1Save your account before paying
Create or open your account on Mullvad’s website and store the account number securely before choosing time to add. Treat it as private account information, not a public order reference. Check which account is signed in before paying. This site does not create accounts or collect payments for you.
2Choose an available official method
Mullvad’s pricing page lists traditional and crypto payment methods. Compare what you already use before acquiring another asset. Our planner covers BTC only. This does not rule out other official methods or mean every method is available in every region.
3Keep Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash and Monero separate
These are different assets. After selecting Bitcoin, match BTC and the same network on both sides; do not substitute Bitcoin Cash or send USDT to a BTC address. Use the amount, address and expiry from your current official payment screen, not an old screenshot or forwarded address.
4Verify account time after payment
Keep the payment time, amount and transaction reference, then check whether time has been added to the original account. Sender status, blockchain confirmation and account credit are different states. If funds were sent but time has not updated, check transaction status and contact official support before paying again.
5Are Bitcoin payments refundable?
Mullvad’s refund policy excludes BTC, BCH and XMR payments. Refund coverage for some other methods does not extend to crypto. We rechecked this rule on September 8 against the official policy updated August 26, 2026. If you are still evaluating the service, consider refund eligibility before transfer fees. Decide how much time to buy and save the account number. Missing purchased time is still a payment-support issue; the refund exclusion does not prevent asking support to trace it.
6How do I find the funded account on a new phone?
First check the account number in the Mullvad app on a device that is still signed in, then use that same number on the new device. Creating another account does not bring over purchased time. Official recovery guidance does not guarantee success. Save the number in advance; if it is lost, follow the recovery options for your payment method. A blockchain transaction alone is not a promise of account recovery. Keep the full account number out of public support posts.
7Consider renewal, refunds and privacy separately
Set a personal reminder before expiry and recheck payment options then. Do not assume a crypto payment creates automatic recurring charges. Recheck the chosen method’s refund terms before paying again. Service privacy and blockchain records are separate matters. A Bitcoin payment is not automatically hidden because it buys a privacy service. Redact account numbers and personal data in troubleshooting screenshots.
